I like the general idea but I don't understand how to makle it work. I have a facebook account and find the options bewildering, so I login only once every few weeks to tick the boxes for any new "friends" and read messages.

I can understand the use of Facebook, etc for promoting things but for genuine friends and family, the normal method of communication sach as face-to-face or the telephone ( Skype included) , e-mails or the specific type forums & thus PM's is more my liking. I think huge numbers in forums, does not allow the owner to be across all the posts which some smaller forums allow - in fact some small forums are almost like physical clubs in which 90% plus know each other in a face to face environment.
