Looking outside it seems more like northern Michigan than central Ohio, there is at least 8 inches of snow on the ground. Di will post pictures later I bet.

I've been living here for over 6 years now and have NEVER seen this much snow in this city. Good thing the Data 1 mobile is a little 4 wheel drive :)

bottom left, you can see part of the whiskey barrel thingy on our front stoop. you cant tell where our stoop ends and the sidewalk begins.

Jared and I are going out and building a snowman a little bit later

But I don't understand. The web site for the Data Centre clearly says:

"Severe weather is not a problem for Columbus"

Are they lying? :)

Keep warm,

Martin.

actually no problems have been reported yet (in regards to power/heat going out throughout the city). Jim made the stop at the grocery store night before last and he said the shelves were just about bare due to everyone stocking up and preparing for the storm.

the salt trucks have gone down our street a couple times this morning to plow and salt our road so if we need to get out, we can.

besides Jim getting nearly sideswiped by an ambulance  last night, everything is going good LOL!

Hi Di,

You're lucky to have salt  :) -- the UK ran out of the stuff during the recent bad weather.

I think I've posted this video before, but it's such a smashing film Jared might like to see it again:

Martin.

Jared was most impressed with the guys digging the "snow tunnels" (because it was so tall!) so the train can get through.

One of our members posted that they have 18 inches of snow in Maryland which is unusual for them and more to come. You really are being hit badly in the USA

And here I am in the wilds of Canada ... praying for snow. (At least the rest of the area is). We have 'Winter' Olympics here, and no snow. Not even on the mountain. Flowers are blooming.

Vancouver promised to deliver a 'green' 2010 Olympics. They're true to their word.

You okay? Don't think you've posted since.
