I have heard from two members of our forums who say that when trying to access the forums they get a list of files instead of the forum.  One I know is using IE but not heard back from the other one.

The one using IE has discovered if she clicks on Last Modified and then forums (see screen shots) she is then able to get in to the forums.

Any help on this would be appreciated.  This member can access the forums using FF.

Hi Mag,

Those members are using (or have bookmarked) the wrong address for your site.

They are using: http://www.pluspsp.com

They should be using: http://www.pluspsp.com/forums/

Try clicking those and see for yourself. :)

To prevent this, you need to upload a Welcome page into the public_html folder called index.htm , which includes a link to your forum.

regards,

Martin.

If I use FF, I can get in on both links, but you are correct about IE. Why should this be the case?

Update

Aha I did as you suggested and it works fine now.  Thanks Martin.  I am still puzzled why it worked in FF though and not IE.

Hi Mag,

It didn't work for me in FF.

I see you have now provided a index.html file. Perhaps that page existed previously, and Jim's recent virus sweep inadvertently removed it? The browser may have substituted an older cached version.

Or perhaps you were using the full forum address without knowing it, from a bookmark or a link?

regards,

Martin.

No I typed in the URL in IE an and FF as I have the forums one bookmarked.

One of life's little mysteries I guess, but all is well now and both can get in using either URL. Thanks again
