just looked at avast, not sure how to work it, i've got the free version, maybe I should upgrade?

anyhoo, its says infected count - 2 files, only shows one as 'last infected' -- pm.php?folder_id=100. Don't know if that's current or a leftover. Don't know how to view the second file.

It's listing a PM as an infection on your local PC?

The free version is just fine BTW.

Are you asking me or telling me? LOL!

EDIT: It doesn't appear to be saying a specific PM, just lists the folder, then {gzip}

Asking (excitedly). Also out of paranoia I just went in and re checked your files, didn't see any infections.

I've got several people blaming us for trashing their computers and some saying they're still getting virus warnings.

:?

It's easy to focus blame elsewhere but the problem is wide spread on the entire internet. The virus can be removed from a local computer but it takes someone who has chased these things around a lot. Not for your average click and flush person.

I believe the reason our group was hit so hard might be a lot of us visit each others sites.

If the problem originates with Flashchat, one of the Mods on WowBB who also hung out here who quite actively promoted Flashchat as a good match for the software, so that might explain the predominance.
