Coding Gods; Is there a way to allow members to adjust their own thread titles after a thread has been posted. Right now only a moderator (or above) can adjust a thread. I checked the permissions list and it seems to be one of the few options not listed there that can be allowed (or not allowed) I would like to give the members this ability if possible. this is something I have seen on other forums and it is especially useful in For Sale sections where a member can adjust their thread title to say "SOLD" once an item sale has been completed, or on my forum members many times add new images to a thread or post later and then will update their thread title or description line to say "new images added on 6/10/10" Regardless of how this might be used, I am hoping there is a way to add this to the permissions options so an admin could make the decision to allow this or not. Is this something that can be done currently? Thanks. ps - I AM NOT asking for people to tell me why they don't want this feature. As I have suggested above, it should be a permissions option that seems to be currently missing. If it is a permission option then you can simply not allow it if you don't want your members to be able to do it. I AM simply asking if it can be done.

I get quite a few pm's asking me to correct spelling in titles and also asking me to mark sold items as sold. This would be a great permission to add.

That would have its uses if it doesn't get abused. Maybe an adjustable time limit on editing the title, similar to the way we can set time limits on post editing.

Hope you are doing well. I am on 5 other forums where you can change your own thread title whenever you want and I have not seen any problems or abuse. But what you suggest could be achieved if we just had the ability to allow them to do it at all in the first place, lol

any thoughts or updates on this? When Jim commented above I thought there might be hope that this was something we could potentially see. Just following up. Thanks!

Did I give the impression I was going to whip up a mod and distribute it? I apologize. There are certainly a few things that really need to be done before this I'm afraid. Like the rest of 1.19. You might want to refill the popcorn machine Dean!

I'll chip in some cash right now to a development fund if that will help. I am serious.

There is no amount of money that can buy time. Maybe a watch to see how much is passing but not time itself. Time is the problem.

I would like to rebump this request. I have endless requests for this, especially in our Sales section so people can adust the titles when sold, etc.
