A few people on my forum are having the + symbol get dropped in Quick Reply. I checked and it is happening to me too, Internet Explorer and Firefox. Can't say about Chrome as I don't use it.

Hi Jim, It's the same problem as the one with activation keys -- if php can interpret the string as a floating point number it does so. It then drops the positive sign as the normal default on floats. Folks, this only happens if the + sign is the first non-space character in the box and it is followed only by numbers or a single decimal point or a single letter e or E. +123 will become 123 +1.2e4 will become 12000.00 but +12x will stay as +12x The easiest fix is to type some invalid character on the end, such as a semi-colon: +123; or just type some other stuff on the same or subsequent lines. Topic subject lines, signatures, profile fields, the lot. But the thing is, how often do you need to enter a number by itself and have it treated as a string? 99.9% of the time, if you enter a number you want it to be a number, or else it is part of a longer string anyway. regards, Martin.
