I have changed the dns settings and still it does not go to my site. Heck I can't even post any stuff to make it have information available when folks finally get to the site.

Domain purchased from GoDaddy.com http://www.talkcambridge.com

DNS--As far as I know has been changed.

However when putting in the url it does not go to my site.

Please help me.

Hi,

Your site is working for me. :)

DNS changes can take between 3 minutes and 3 days to propagate throughout the entire internet.

Try again after a few hours.

regards,

Martin.

DNS changes are never instant unless it's creating a new domain.

Hope everything is working well for you.

havingfun1,

I hope things are going ok along the Choptank,  I am from Thurmont way over on the far western shore.  Your site is up and running and I'm happy to see that you are working with Jim. I just moved hosting from NetworkSolutions to Data 1 and am very pleased with products and service. I have two forums running UltraBB:

http://www.thurmontfirst.com/forums/  is a community bulletin board.

http://thurmonttalk.com/ is a place where we stir up the stink from really deep down in the bucket.

http://www.thurmontfirst.com/albums/thurmont/ to see what kind of foolishness your western cousins are up to.

Would you consider allowing a redneck mountain boy to join your forum?

We are getting hammered at the moment with an additional 20 inches of snow on top of the 30 inches we were buried under this past week end!  Kinda makes me wish for springtime and a nice drive through your community on the way to visit my grandkids camping at the Castaways opposite Assateauge. I've been passing through Cambridge since moving to Maryland in 1960 and have always enjoyed the shore hospitality.

Good luck with your site,
John A. Kinnaird

Thank you to each of you for replying to my help post. My site is indeed working now. I guess I just needed a bit more patience's with it. jakinnaird, we welcome all kinds of folks so feel free to join our brand new site. I am sure it will be slow for some time to come until we catch on but I am willing to stick it out for several months.

I do however have a addition question. If I need to start a new thread or post in a different area, please advise me and I will follow the instructions.

I want to put the name of my forum in big letters. Maybe even with a background or something. I know I will have to create what I want, or at least I guess I will. If there is a site where I can go to create such a banner please let me know about it.

My question is where do I put the code so that it will show next to my sail on my site? You can visit http://www.talkcambridge.com to see what I am talking about. The area right now is a big blank space and that is no good, IMO. I have my own Proboards site so I am somewhat familiar with headers/footers and stuff. I just don't see where to put my new banner code on the ultrabb software admin panel.

The best thing to do is create a banner with your sail and text incorporated in the banner and just upload it as board logo in Admin.

Do you use any graphics programs that would allow you to do this?

PS.  I had a look at your site and I see you have the newest post showing first.  Took me a little while to work out the conversation till I realised this   LOL.  I am so used to the oldest post first.

Hi there Mag! I do have PaintShop Pro and Animation Shop, however I am not very good at all with them. I have a girl who has helped me in the past with my decorating. I will ask her to create something for me. The newest post showing 1st is the way a competing site is layed out so I want to stick with the way those members are used to. Actually that is why I have come to start using Ultrabb. I have been using proboards for the site I currently have up and running.

Yes I did. I asked my good friend to work something up for me. She is very good with her creations. This one is very simple for her but she is not feeling so well right now. Maybe later I will have something fancy.
