Has anyone any idea how the transfer to data 1 is going as I still can't seem to access RMWeb. Perhaps their url has changed with the move.

Hi Bob, New RMweb (IP.Board) is at: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/ Old RMweb (phpBB3, read-only) is at: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/ Both are still running on UK2 hosting at present, if "running" is the right word. Old RMweb hasn't worked for a month. New RMweb has to be switched to so-called "performance mode" (in which most of the site doesn't work) during the evenings in order to keep going at all. All will be well when the move to Data 1 is completed.  As far as I know Jim is still building and testing the server.regards, Martin.

Actually the new server just arrived today, I'm putting it on the bench as we type and looking it over. If the OS load and cpanel goes well we should be quick and reliable by next weekend some time. The hard drive and some extra memory has been here for a while now.

Hi, Since there are some "RMWebbers" evidently following this here is an update. Server is in the datacenter now and humming nicely. There was a 6 inch dump of snow here but it was still easy for the Data 1 Mobile (it really has Data 1 plates) to make the steep incline into the Cera Net parking lot. As always they treated me like extended family and were very helpful. Loading cpanel now, will set nameservers tomorrow, will allow DNS to take hold then start transferring files! I've never done a play by play on a server install, this is kinda unusual.

Yes. It is ready except for reverse DNS for mail. I have contacted the owner. We might never see a row of zeros, but my goal is to never see it over 2.

After an epic battle migrating files from the UK, Jim has worked his magic and has finally got RMweb working well as part of the Data 1 family. His excellent work has not gone unnoticed -- see: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/10020-take-a-bow-jim/ It's not an Ultra board, it's running on IPBoard. That made a lot of extra work, for not much gain in my view, but that's a separate issue. Well done Jim. And welcome RMweb to Data 1 Systems -- the best web host you will ever find. Martin.
