As time goes on and hackers get more schooled in the art of destroying ordinary systems it becomes necessary for the protection of your data to strengthen security. I will be installing the firewall I have on server 7 to all servers soon. This might cause some symptoms you should be aware of: 1. If you attempt to log in to your cpanel with the wrong password 5 times in a row... your IP might be blocked from the server. 2. If you set up password protected directories and someone tries to log in 5 times with wrong info, they will be blocked from the server. 3. If you try to log in FTP more than 5 times with the wrong info... you guessed it. There will be other areas of tightening also. I have decided to disable SSH and SFTP all together. If there is some reason you really need it contact me, I will set you up with a private key so you can get in bit it will be closely monitored and logged. This will not happen immediately. Now the tough one that will need adjusting... e-mail. I might not be able to 100% secure this on existing servers but all new servers will have routines in place preventing sending of spam from rogue scripts. I will need some testers as of the next server to see how this will pan out but for most of us it shouldn't be a problem. Due to the fact that boards send mass e-mails I have no plans to limit the amount of e-mails, however bad email addresses in your members (or for converted WowBB's your spammers) will be returned to the board e-mail address so you can see which ones to trim Ultimately all these measures will keep the hacker community from messing with your data. If you notice we have not had a large amount of problems with the Data 1 servers and I intend on keeping it this way. Jim

What I need is a Script or Routine That when a Certain Individual Sends me an Email, It will return about 20 copies of the same to him. I just received one from him advising me to suck it up because it would be more of the same in 2010. I really need to break this guy of this habit. He always send the rumour or hoax type of email, like the IRS will tax your guns in 2010 or big virus coming, worst in history, I have verified this with Snopes or something to that effect. He forwards every piece of garbage he receives.
