As you probably are aware by now the next phase of Ultra development is in full swing, being worked on daily. We are taking the time to check everything out carefully and toward the end of the development we might just invite a few people to join in the beta testing to shed a broader light on the new functions.
As I said before the last update was the "admins cut" so I'm determined to make this one the "members cut". As enhancements are completed I will tell more.
HOWEVER during the last few days I had a revelation on another little project I had been working on.... the arcade . The old arcade was cumbersome and difficult to add games to, the new version will be as easy to add and play new games. The game format will be limited to SWF files but we all know there are thousands to choose from which will make this a cool little addition to anyone's site.
I know a lot of you have been waiting a while for the arcade but in our usual fashion nothing will be released until it works very very well.
Now the portal is a different story, I have had a lot of people say that it might be better to integrate an existing portal in to the board instead of writing my own. I really don't know what direction I will take on this, there are as many cons to either way as there is pros. The biggest pro is that if I release the UltraPortal then the board files will not have to be moved to a sub folder as they would have to be if I integrate. Some of you have thousands of pages crawled which would result in dead links on searches.
So hang tight, I know it has been a little longer than we usually go without an upgrade but I feel the changes will be well worth it.
