Interesting Article about some major sites blacking out their sites on Jan 18th in protest of SOPA. http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2012/01/13/wikipedia-mulls-sopa-blackout-as-other-sites-join-in/ If I had a site that was generating any traffic, I would totally do this. It brings awareness to the users about something that isn't getting as much media attention as it should.

Unfortunately it is a futile gesture unless a big site is going to participate, google or Facebook, a splash screen with a continue link might work for big sites like google or microsoft
