You need zip a program to do that. There are lots of them. You can download a free one, EasyZip, from my web site: http://www.templot.com/odds/ezip46.exe regards, Martin.

There is a native zipping utility in every version of windows from XP on up. Right click on the folder and -send to- compressed (zipped) folder. Used to be really slow in the original XP home but since XP SP2 it works well. It made it to Vista and 7.

OK... got a friend in Nevada who just bought a new E-machine. Started it up and it was working. Shut it down today and now on startup it is giving this error... reboot and select proper boot device He tried to ALT and F10 to do a Recovery but it is not working. He did not get a system disk with it either. Any ideas what this error could be or where he can get the Emachine Recovery Management download? E-machine is mailing one to him, but they said it may take up to 7 days to receive it. Pc is an Emachine, model et1331g-05w, running windows 7.

He needs to go into the bios and poke around. If he has a thumb drive in a USB port and the thing is set to attempt to boot from a USB device this can happen. Remove all USB drives and try. Sounds to me like he lost a setting somewhere or perhaps hard drive failure. Check for loose SATA cables on the hard drive. If it were in front of me............

As they say in South Carolina... "I done this before" Cheap SATA cables are notorious for shaking loose even under normal conditions. I only use the ones with clips now especially for servers, they only cost 3 bucks more each. Cheap for insurance. Glad it is working-

I have a ton of them already from previous builds. Gigabyte boards come with cables that have clips. They are fluorescent orange though, I don't look for in case aesthetics. I personally like the rosewill SA2-90-BK, it has clips, it has one 90 deg. plug (a must for 1U servers and handy for micro atx cases in home builds) AND it is 18" long. Put the drive anywhere in the case!
