Its Works With Limitations, I couldn't Get a Phone Number with The Area Code of 252 and I had to take a phone number With an Area Code of 336 Which is a Couple of hundred miles west of me. But I am Making Long Distance Telephone Calls pretty much FREE!! except for the initial $39.88 investment I made. Its as good as the old Ma Bell Service ever was and clear. It works very well for what I want to Do and that is keep in Touch with my daughter in the Coast Guard in Charleston S.C.

BTW

I can have my Phone number changed free one time and can get the Charleston S.C. Area Code and a local Charleston Phone Number.

Its Worth the $39.88 Which includes the First years service and Service is only $19.99 a year after That.

If you make a lot of long distance phone calls, its a bargain.

You just need a High Speed Internet Connection and an available USB Port.

As Good As The Old MA Bell Calls,  Sometimes there is a little echo, but not too noticeable. I guess it depends on your computer and Internet connection. Mine is Excellent quality. I have a new Computer with a 3.0 ghz Quad Processor and a very good Cable Internet connection.

My sister bought this several months ago, and was able to get a local area code. Her husband is on the drug task force, here in town, and is constantly making and receiving long distance calls from informants. He gets paid back, from the county, but the wait times on reimbursement were very poor.

When I talk to her on her "home phone" I have never noticed any change in quality. She did upgrade her old dsl service to cable, because she was told the quality was much better on cable... obviously.

Even with the upgrade in the internet, her savings of not having a phone bill far exceed the cost of the cable upgrade.

I would purchase one, but I have not had a home phone for almost 4 years now...anyone who knows me, has my cell number. ;) Plus, texting on a home phone, just never caught on :)

I changed My Number To A Charleston S.C. Local Number and My Daughter Can Make Local Calls to me From her Home Or The CG Station. ;)

You Get a Free One Time Number Change after that is $10

This Has Worked out Great For Me and I can Call any Number in the US and Canada Free or Well, $19.99 a Year. The Land Line Phone Companies must be having a cow right now or a lot of cows!.

Magic Jack claims to be selling a Quarter of a million units per month. My Cable Company wanted $30 per month for essentially the same service. :q

I have made a lot of calls in the past 5 days and all were clear and without problems.

So I would say it works and is a bargain.:)

I know this old, but here it goes...

Since my heart problem a few weeks ago I now carry a portable event monitor on me at all times. When I have a heart issue it records it and I have to send it to the doctor through a land line, which I haven't had in years. I tried it with my Droid, but no go. I bought a Magic Jack a few days ago and it works great. I am able to send the monitor information through the Magic Jack and they said it comes through crystal clear. $39 for the initial cost which covers 1 year service - heck it would have been that much for 1 month of home service.

Thank you Magic Jack! LOL
