UltraBB 1.19 is to be released this fall and is starting to take shape. This is the short list of things that are 100% finished and working:

1. Attachments are held in a folder now instead of the MySQL database making things the database a LOT easier to manage if you post a lot of files.

2. Search box when using top menu can be pasted in with right click menu now.

3. Right click on drop down menu works to open in new tabs or windows.

4. There were more subtle changes to the entire drop down scenario that were addressed including timing, none open at the same time...

5. Earlier versions of 1.15 the theme editor simply didn't work right. The fix made it to 1.19.

6. Cured the "icon clip is showing when there is no attachment" bug.

7. The captcha image now has a "click to refresh" feature. It has also been moved before the password fields which always refresh on reload anyway.

There are a lot of other things that nobody will notice, a general cleanup and reorganization of the javascript locations. Anything that doesn't have to reside in a template now does not.

There was another bug that when you edit a post and upload a new attachment without deleting the old one first it actually left the old attachment in the database. I might have been the only human that noticed this. It would have done the same thing in the folder. Now it is fixed.

The next phase is slated as multiple attachments in posts, attachments in PM's, a 100% tested cure on the "illegal double" bug during registration. These are not the only things planned, simply the next phase and a definite add.

There are a lot of other things in consideration but would be speculation so I only want to post what is definitely going to happen. As you all have experienced the bulk of the "little bells and whistles" usually get added during the final beta testing stages!

Hi, I figured I would give an update on this.

As you well know by now the development of 1.19 was delayed greatly by real life issues including family considerations and illnesses on the part of all the developers. It was a bad year to try to get anything done that requires 100% concentration like writing good code.

It is however being worked on daily as I have found more time because of circumstances. David is helping where he can and has been a blessing to the attachment mod.

We are still working on attachments to get them 100% done but so far here is where we are:
  1. Multiple attachments in posts are working well
  2. Attachments in PM's (multiple also) are working well (long overdue)
This is in addition to all the stuff in the above post. It may seem like a little but we want the routine to be above and beyond any other attachment scenario you have experienced and I truly believe it is turning out that way. It is a MAJOR overhaul to the core and is taking time to prove and test for security and congruence with the current systems.

So we have not forgotten, just set back.

Hi all,
It's been over a year now, we apologize for the extended wait for the new features that have been slated. We now own WowBB and development will begin once again on the next level of our bulletin board software due to this.

The acquisition of WowBB will allow us 100% freedom in altering code/ adjusting pricing as we see fit and resolves long time issues in licensing payments to WowBB. We wish to thank Aycan Gulez for developing the original base code that we molded into UltraBB and for giving our hosting company Data 1 Systems INC. the opportunity to enter a purchase agreement for the WowBB portion of his projects.

We appreciate your support and the patience you have shown during the past year.
